How good is this song?

Future Islands are an American “synthpop” band based in Baltimore. Information on them is fairly thin on the ground however Season (Waiting on You) is from their 4th album called Singles.

The song was released in February 2014 and the band has since gone on to be recognised for an amazing performance of the song in particular by their lead singer Samuel T Herring on the David Letterman show in March 2014. This performance has about as much passion as you would ever see from a lead singer. Here’s the link if you want to see it.

The song Seasons (Waiting on you) has won too many awards to list but here’s a few:

Number 1 in both The Top 50 Tracks of 2014 from NME and Consequence of Sound, Number 1 in the Pitchfork 100 best tracks of 2014 and number 1 on the Spin best Songs of 2014 and Pazz and Jop Single of the year 2014. The song only managed number 9 on the Rolling Stone 50 Best songs of 2014.
