Kodachrome - Paul Simon
From Paul Simon’s 1973 album, There Goes Rhymin’ Simon:
This is a song from a time of simplicity, at least that’s how it seems to me. A time when we believed in “nice bright colours” and “greens of summer”. And “all the girls I knew when I was single” referenced a misspent youth in the nicest possible way. It’s a bit different to the not so “Blurred Lines” of today
And for all it’s innocence, it was actually banned on some radio stations because the first line of the song:
“When I think back on all the crap I learned in high school, it’s a wonder I can think at all”
The song was banned because of the word crap in case you’re wondering!
What a great clip!
It’s a gorgeous song, just one of the many many wonderful songs that Paul Simon had something to do with!
