Lenny Kravitz It ain’t over till it’s over
Lenny Kravitz
It ain’t over till it’s over. Can you believe this song came out in 1991? Where did the time go? The song came from his second studio album Mama Said. The story goes that Lenny’s marriage to Lisa Bonet was at an end and he was trying to reconcile with her when he wrote the song. The violins in this tune are lilting and melodic and get me every time.

And what a smooth man he was (and I’m sure still is!) A talented smooth man! He plays all the instruments on the record except the horns and the strings. The quotable Wikipedia says the song is” musically inspired by Motown, Philly soul, and Earth, Wind & Fire.” In fact, the horn section at the end was the actual Earth Wind and Fire horn section.
Lenny has had a host of amazing songs - Let love rule, Fly away, Are you gonna go my way to name but a few. He has also been cultivating quite a career in the movies too featuring in the film Precious and both of the Hunger Games movies and several other roles including cameos.
I hope you enjoy Lenny and It ain’t over till it’s over!
